What To Expect In Your Video Production Binder

Have you hired a professional video production company to help produce your next corporate video? If so, know that a lot of work goes into planning the production on the days that you are filming. It is common to receive a production binder prior to the shoot so that everyone has all of the information needed on the big day. Here are some of the things you can expect to see in this binder.

Contact Information

One of the most important pages will be the contact information about all the employees that will be working on the production that day, as well as the vendors that you'll be working with. This can be very helpful if somebody doesn't arrive at a location on time, goes missing, or needs to be contacted for any reason at all. Vendor information is also helpful if you need to contact the equipment rental company for a missing piece of gear, the caterers for concerns about food being delivered to the set, and things of that nature.

Final Scripts and Storyboards

Chances are that a lot of revisions happened to the scripts and storyboards during the pre-production process. That's why having the latest versions of these documents is important so that everyone is on the same page about what is being filmed. If you see something that is incorrect, you can speak up as soon as possible so that the correct script is filmed.

Shooting Schedule

It is incredibly common for videos to be shot out of order based on what makes sense for talent and locations. Your shooting schedule is going to have a rundown of where each location of the shoot takes place, the talent that needs to be there, and how much time has been allotted for production. This helps ensure that everything is running on schedule and that adjustments can be made if something runs over its allotted time for any part of the production.

Permits

Your production binder is going to be the place to keep any permits that are needed for your production. Each person having a copy of the permits in their binder helps avoid potential problems if someone requests if you have a permit to be at your location. It can be shown immediately by anyone, which prevents the production from coming to a halt while the official permits are shown to the person that is in charge of them.
